How far can I drive my EV?
Electric vehicles (EVs) have many advantages, but they generally offer less range than ICE vehicles, which can lead to "range anxiety" among potential buyers due to limited public charging stations. However, most modern EVs can exceed 200 km per full charge, reaching above 650 km. Given that the average daily commute in Manila is around 24 km, EVs are often suitable for most drivers. Nonetheless, it's essential to plan for charging on longer trips, as factors like terrain and driving habits can affect range. For added peace of mind, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) automatically switch to gasoline when necessary. REEVs are also proving to be another favorable option because they have more range than pure EVs, allowing for longer trips without relying only on charging stations.
Where can I charge my EV?
When you buy an electric vehicle (EV), it usually comes with a Level 1 charger for standard wall socket charging, and some models may include a Level 2 charger. Most EV owners prefer home charging for convenience. For charging on the go, there are over 600 public EV charging stations nationwide, with more expected to be added in the coming years. It's important to ensure the charging station's plug type matches your EV for compatibility.
