Meralco, Quezon province seal deal to energize growth
One city and six towns in the province of Quezon recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Meralco for the latter’s Energizing Partnerships Program (EPP). The agreement affirms Meralco’s commitment to pave the way for the province’s growth and progress, particularly in Tayabas City, and the municipalities of Candelaria, Lucban, Mauban, Pagbilao, Sampaloc and San Antonio.
These partnerships include Meralco’s extension of facilities and installation of streetlights as well as One Meralco Foundation’s community electrification programs that will benefit various barangays in the said localities. Future partnerships also include Meralco’s inclusion in the Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council. Notably, Quezon is the site as well of Meralco’s joint venture power generation projects.
Tayabas City Mayor Reynoso said, “Energizing partnerships with Meralco will result to more support for the projects of local governments, which in turn will lead to economic development and improvement of our services to our constituents.”
