Our sustainability journey can be captured and described in three distinct waves—Establish in 2019, Embed and Engage in 2020, and Evolve beginning 2021.
In 2019, following new management direction and guidance, we firmly established sustainability at the top of our corporate agenda and at the core of our strategy and operations.
Starting 2020, we have endeavored to embed sustainability throughout our activities by designing and implementing programs across our Power, Planet, People, and Prosperity pillars. We have also set in motion a number of undertakings to broadly engage all in our organization, inspiring and spurring them to action.
In 2021 and beyond, we aim to evolve and elevate our sustainability agenda and initiatives, in view of our long-term environmental and social aspirations:
Contract over 5,000 GWh of renewable energy (RE) supply in line with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Renewable Portfolio Standards
Build 1,500 MW of renewable energy generation capacity across multiple technologies in the next 5-7 years
Expand water access by providing households with potable water
Enlarge education reach by energizing schools
Improve access to quality health care by energizing health facilities
Improve livelihood productivity by energizing agricultural facilities and equipment
Heighten disaster resilience and recovery by training cooperative staff and communities
