Meralco and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Kick Off the EV Charging Station Project for DTI and DENR

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), Meralco, Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently held a Groundbreaking Ceremony at the DENR Headquarters in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City as a kick-off activity for the construction of four electric vehicle (EV) charging stations commissioned by MMPC for the two government agencies. As part of its advocacy to energize an electric vehicle eco-system in the Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Japan, through MMPC, donated five iMiEV and five Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) to DENR and DTI. The company also provided the agencies four Chademo EV chargers.
MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, DENR Undersecretary Jonas R. Leones, and DTI Undersecretary Rowel S. Barba delivered messages during the short program. Key people from MMPC, Meralco, MSERV, DENR, and DTI participated in the ceremonial groundbreaking and photo session afterwards.
Meralco's wholly-owned subsidiary, MSERV, will build the EV charging stations that will be housed in four locations: DENR Central Office in Quezon City, DTI Office in Makati, as well as DENR Regional Offices in Cebu and Davao.
