Meralco, MSERV turn over electric jeeps to Quezon City government
Through the joint efforts of the Quezon City Engineering and Public Works Management, MServ and Meralco, an initial two units of electric Jeeps (e-Jeeps) were turned over to the local government to be used by the Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department (EPWMD) in its operations. The city intends to use these e-jeeps to educate its constituents about the benefits of electric vehicles or EVs.
Meralco, through its subsidiary, MServ, has been actively promoting the use of these environment-friendly vehicles. One of the key benefits of using EVs is its zero emission of harmful air pollutants and greenhouse gases which greatly reduces the smoke emitted from fossil fuels of gas-fed vehicles. Because of this, the deployment of these e-jeeps is a big part of the city governments’ initiatives to make QC clean and green.
