OMF recognized as DENR’s “Gawad Kabalikan sa Kapaligiran” environment sustainability partner

One Meralco Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), is recognized by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) with the “Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran” during the EMB Recognition of Partners held in Quezon City this February 26.

Called by the DENR-EMB as their “invaluable partner” for environmental sustainability, OMF was acknowledged for its initiatives for the planet, including solar electrification of public schools, agriculture and livelihood facilities, health centers, and water facilities, and reforesting critical mangrove and upland sites as an investment for a more sustainable future.

"This recognition as 'Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran' is a testament to the power of our shared purpose. It reinforces our belief that environmental sustainability is not a solo journey, but our collective responsibility. We are not just protecting resources—we are investing in a resilient, greener future for every community we serve,” said OMF President Jeffrey Tarayao, who received the recognition with OMF Program Manager for Environmental Sustainability Patrick Famisaran from DENR Acting Sec. Juan Miguel Cuna (2^nd from left), Asec. Jacqueline Caancan (rightmost), Asst. Director Maria Dorica Naz-Hipe (leftmost).
